[Simutrans-Experimental] Nation of Eleanor | 1750-1797

The Nation of Eleanor is a Constitutional Monarchy. In 1750, when this story begins, Michael IV is in power (since 1749). This nations is made of the 'Home Region', the Southern Islands, and the Colonial Region, in the continent of Beephar.

Both Regions are mountainous and have almost no vegetation. The Southern Islands economy runs on fish, cereals and vegetables, while the almost inexistent Colonial economy in wood (from plantations of trees built on orders of Michael IV.

This is where the royal family lives.

One year after being in power, a government-owned company was founded, the
Southern Isles Company (SIC). This first company transported fish, mail and passengers in the region of Hart's Bay. In 5/1753 a first bus line was created, between Sunhall, Sheaferpole. Hartham and Miseningston. In this early years, the company was only for the High and Middle Class passengers.

The inexperience of this people drowned the company in debt. In 1/1755 being SIC unable to deal with it’s debt, mainly because of infrastructure maintenance, Eleanor government bought the company stops and allowed the Southern Isles C. to use it in exchange of a small fee.

In October of 1755, the nations rejoices with the news of the biggest Canal ever built in the world: the Garingport  Canal opens. 19 kms long, cutting the hills between Hart's Bay (Brackwick) and the Inner Sea.

Seeing the Company was losing the war of debt, the Southern Isles & Company is founded, a mixture of private and public investors.  This was in 1760, and three years later in 1763, SIC closes permanently, selling all it's assets.
